Summary
The existence of a plethora of digital health information systems is a reality in today’s digital world. Many of these systems, however, operate in silos and are not interoperable. In this regard, the concept of interoperability has received a lot of attention. However, to fully realize the concept of interoperability in its entirety, skilled personnel who can understand concepts, design, implement, and manage systems are required. To this end, a number of academic institutions and other training programs are developing courses to train people in order to implement the concept. As part of this initiative, two courses on interoperability are designed by the EDHIN.
